Louie Benedict R. Ignacio earned his AB in Political Science degree from the University of Santo Tomas, his Master of Arts in Sociology from the Ateneo de Manila University, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science, again, from the University of Santo Tomas. He has published works on urban sociology and governance, and youth and women empowerment. He has engaged into various researches as well, both self-initiated and institution-commissioned either from private higher educational institutions of government agencies. He is a college teacher and researcher, was a program chair, a director for student affairs, and a college dean. He is a member of the Philippine Sociological Society since 2007.
