Former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr.: 2017 PSS National Conference Keynote Speaker

CJ Davide, a native of Argao, Cebu, accepted our invitation to be the keynote speaker of the 2017 PSS National Conference which will be held at the University of the Philippines – Cebu on October 5-7, 2017. The theme for this year’s conference is “Sociology of Justice”.

In his reply to the PSS on 4th April 2017, he said, I am honored to be considered as your keynote speaker. I accept the invitation, not so far for the honor; but more for the relevant and timeliness of your theme. I am interested in it.”

A graduate of UP Diliman College of Law and Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) from the Southern University, Davide was the 20th Chief Justice of the Philippines and head of the Judicial Branch of government from November 1998 to December 2005. He also served as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Philippines to United Nations in New York.
