The Mindanao State University-General Santos City hosted the 2014 PSS National Conference last 16-18 October at MSU’s CETD Campus. Crises, Resiliency, Community: Sociology in the Age of Disasters was this year’s theme.

This conference was one of the biggest events the PSS has hosted in recent years. There were over two hundred registered participants, twenty parallel sessions and more than eighty paper presentations by sociologists from fifty different institutions.

As in the past PSS conferences, this year’s plenary speakers were a mix of young and senior sociologists whose understanding of crises and disasters come from different sociological traditions.
