Prof. Miriam Coronel-Ferrer is the plenary speaker for the Philippine Sociological Society’s 2015 National Conference

Prof. Miriam Coronel-Ferrer is the plenary speaker for the Philippine Sociological Society’s 2015 National Conference at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology.  Prof. Ferrer is the Chairperson of the Government Peace Negotiating Panel for Talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Her presentation is entitled “May Tiwala: The Trust Factor in Peace Building and Conflict Transformation.”

The theme for this year’s conference is Sociology of Peace and Conflict: Contexts and Challenges.

Joining Prof. Ferrer in the roster of plenary speakers is sociologist Dr. Francisco “Pancho” Lara, the author of the recently published book Insurgents, Clans, and States – Political Legitimacy and Resurgent Conflict in Muslim Mindanao, Philippines.
