Vital statistics? Pollsters reflect on the power of quantitative research in PSS Plenary

Three of the country’s top quantitative researchers will join the PSS National Conference’s Plenary Session entitled “Vital Statistics: The Power and Perils of Quantitative Research Methods.”

Ronald Holmes, the President of Pulse Asia Research Inc., Gerardo Sandoval, a fellow at the Social Weather Stations, and Erwin Rafael, instructor of sociology at the University of the Philippines-Diliman will take part in an hour-long discussion on the ethics, politics and epistemology of quantitative research methods. This session aims to take stock of the contributions of polling data in understanding the Philippine society and safeguarding democratic procedures.

The National Conference will be on 7-8 October at the Ateneo de Davao University. Abstract submissions are due on 31 July. Visit the conference webpage for more information.
