Note: PSS Members are requested to circulate this memo from Dr. Clarence Batan (PSS Vice President and Technical Committee for Sociology member)

Dear fellow Sociology colleagues,

Mapagpalang araw!

Just a gentle reminder of the scheduled national public hearing/consultation of proposed Policies, Standards and Guidelines (PSGs) for Undergraduate and Graduate Sociology program scheduled on May 29, 2015, from 9:00 am12:00 noon at CHED Auditorium. In case you are not yet informed about this event, I am attaching relevant CHED Memo dated April 22, 2015 for your purpose.

Also attached are proposed PSGs for (a) BA Sociology and (b) MA/PhD Sociology for your perusal. You may recall that contents of these PSGs were extensively discussed during our 2013 public hearing/consultations. These new attached PSGs were prepared in line with the Outcomes Based Education (OBE) approach.

Regarding COE/COD applications, the deadline of new submissions will be this Friday, May 15, 2015. I am attaching the related CHED memos for your purpose in case you are interested to know criteria employed in determining COE/COD in Sociology.

For confirmation or inquiries, you may call Ms. Chat Barrera at (02)

441-1253 or email charity_barrera@yahoo.com.ph . Or you could send me an email at cbatan@hotmail.com .

Looking forward to seeing everyone this May 29.
